The structure that lasts for centuries
My Son Hindu Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an excellent sample of the ancient Champa civilization, located in the southern part of Vietnam. It was an independent land from around the 4th to the 13th century, when Vietnam occupied it. The impressive Hindu-themed vestiges feature several exquisite stone sculptures, temples, and towers in tropical jungle surroundings. My Son Sanctuary consists of over 70 beautifully constructed temples and towers (sadly, there were significant damages to the complex as the Americans bombed this area during the Vietnam Ware, knowing that the Viet Cong used it as a hiding place).
Most noteworthy, the main architectural design was constructed to reflect the kings’ divinity and had a primarily religious, historical background. Most of all, be ready, My Son Sanctuary’s amazing complex resides in the rainforest-like setting, located within a valley, and surrounded by mountain ranges, which makes it becomes undoubtedly a highlight when visiting Hoi An in Vietnam.

Travel Tips
- Entry Fee for My Son Sanctuary is $6.60 = VND150,000/ person
- There are 4 Cham Folk Dance shows at 09:15 AM; 10:45 AM and 2:00 PM, and 3:30 PM (Note: It’s an exceptional show that you should not miss)
- You will do much walking there; so, wear comfortable clothes, walking/running shoes, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Bring adequate water and snacks for the trip because no food or drink will be sold inside the relics
